West End Guest House, Elgin: Getting Here.
By Car
Elgin is 40 miles east from Inverness, and 65 miles north west from Aberdeen. The Guest House is set back from the A96, the main road between Inverness and Aberdeen which goes through Elgin.
The Guest House car park can be accessed easily from South Street.
There are several routes to Elgin from the South, the main ones being the A9 to the A95 or the A96. In our experience coming off the A95 at Carrbridge and using the B9007 offers a dramatic journey across the Dava moor (on a good day.) Going south from Elgin, taking the A95 to Grantown-on-Spey has spectacular views of the Spey Valley with many distilleries to pass (or stop at!)
Bus and Train
Elgin has a railway station connecting to Inverness and Aberdeen. Buses also come to Elgin from these cities and connect with buses from Edinburgh and Glasgow. The bus station and railway station are short walks away.
Flying
Inverness Airport is the nearest (31 miles) and a bus service runs to Elgin from it. You can fly to Inverness from London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Geneva and many other places.
While there is much to do and see in an around Elgin, it is also a great base for touring the north east of Scotland and the Highlands. We’ll be glad to help you make the most of your stay.
